Blarney lost out on penalties to Castleview in the U19 Cup in Turners Cross on Sunday night.

Castleview took an early lead thanks to a mazy run and great finish from Andy Harte. Castleview dominated the first 20 minutes putting Blarney's Andy ODonoghue under sever pressure with slick movement and a multitude of shots. The game changed however when one of the Castleview players was sent off. Blarney seized the opportunity and went all square when Jordan stroked a free kick into the far post. Blarney continued to dominate but could not find the final touch. Wave after a wave of attack continued but Castleview defended well. Blarney's cause was not helped by the number of walking wounded. Kieran, Clarkey, Jordan, Harris were all struggling by the final whistle. No goals came in extra time and Blarney's Achilles ensued. Sticking with tradition, Castleview took the advantage early in the shoot out lottery and held through to the end.
