FAI SUMMER SOCCER SCHOOL IN BLARNEY

JULY 14-18

For the 5th consecutive year, Blarney United will host an FAI Summer Soccer School in O'Shea Park. Cost is €99 per child. One change this year is that there will be no "walk -ons" permitted. So my advise is to book early since the club will be unable to add extra children once the camp is full. The only method for booking is via the FAI website www.fai.ie or via the call centre on 1890-653653.

May  2008 - U13Bs travel to Kenmare for End of Season Trip

May 2008: The under 13Bs travelled away to Kenmare for end of season

U13 Friendly V Blarney United

On Saturday May 10th, Inter Kenmare hosted Blarney United's under 13 team, who picked Kenmare as their end-of-season tour destination. Blarney brought a strong team, with a large backup staff and were delighted with the facilities, especially the catering and the warm welcome!

In an open game Inter took the lead through a great goal from Fintan Kennedy but were pegged back by two quick Blarney goals. The standard of play was very high. This was helped by a good surface and a really fine day. After half time, Blarney scrambled a goal from a corner, which meant that Inter had to attack. Conor Maye moved into goal shortly after half time, and had his hands full due to Inter constantly attacking. Two great saves formed a platform for Inter's attack during which they narrowly missed, hitting the cross bar instead. From the rebound, Blarney cleared and Garreth brought the ball down the left wing and chipped the ball into the top corner to make it 3-1. Now it was all-out attack from Inter and Blarney's striker took advantage by intercepting a back pass and scoring. With 5 minutes left Fionan O'Sullivan managed to win a penalty, and Brian Clifford buried it to make the final score 4-2. This was an excellent run-out against a strong Blarney team and plans are underway for a return fixture next season. Thanks to Kim Kennedy and Joanne O'Sullivan for the best catering seen at Inter Kenmare Park all season.
