FAI SUMMER SOCCER SCHOOL IN BLARNEY

JULY 14-18

For the 5th consecutive year, Blarney United will host an FAI Summer Soccer School in O'Shea Park. Cost is €99 per child. One change this year is that there will be no "walk -ons" permitted. So my advise is to book early since the club will be unable to add extra children once the camp is full. The only method for booking is via the FAI website www.fai.ie or via the call centre on 1890-653653.

Blarney's U12A squad had to fight off a determined Inishvilla team to advance to the next round of the U12 National Cup on Saturday morning in O'Shea Park. The close 1-0 victory was thanks to a goal by Jason O'Keefe whose free kick was too hot for the Inishvilla keeper. The goal was scored on the stroke of half time, a half in which Blarney had dominated the play. But Inishvilla performed very well in the second half and could easily have nicked a draw late in the second half when the Inishvilla striker struck the Blarney side netting from close range. The result takes Blarney on the road for their next fixture when they will meet Clonmel in the last 16 of the SFAI Norton National Cup. Indeed, if Blarney were to progress then, according to the draw, which was made in Dublin on Dec 9th, all of Blarney's remaining National Cup fixtures would be away from home.
