FAI SUMMER SOCCER SCHOOL IN BLARNEY

JULY 14-18

For the 5th consecutive year, Blarney United will host an FAI Summer Soccer School in O'Shea Park. Cost is €99 per child. One change this year is that there will be no "walk -ons" permitted. So my advise is to book early since the club will be unable to add extra children once the camp is full. The only method for booking is via the FAI website www.fai.ie or via the call centre on 1890-653653.

 
          
  August  06 - Square League Semi Finals

Wed, August 16th: The finals of the annual Square League will take place next Friday evening. Denis Caughlan's 10 and Cronin Construction will face off at 7:00 having won through against The Castle Hotel and The Huntsman. Caughlan's crew were comfortable winners against a weakened Castle team beating them 5-1 in the end. The second Plate semi finals saw a more even affair with Cronin Construction winning out 2-0. The Cup Semi Finals teed off immediately after with Alan Kelly again officiating. Nevada Smith's saw off Red Star 3 goals to 1. The final game of the evening was a great spectacle with to and fro throughout. As the evening light closed in, the game finished 3-3 on penalties. The dreaded penalty shoot out ensued which Malones won 4-2 on penalties. So Friday night sees Denis Caughlan's 10 facing Cronin construction in the Plate Final. Kick off at  7:00. The Cup Final will see Nevada Smiths tale on the mighty Malone's. The cup final kick off will be at 8:00. The Square League draws to a close on Friday with the prize giving ceremony on The Castle Hotel. The prize giving will take place after soon after the final match.
