FAI SUMMER SOCCER SCHOOL IN BLARNEY

JULY 14-18

For the 5th consecutive year, Blarney United will host an FAI Summer Soccer School in O'Shea Park. Cost is €99 per child. One change this year is that there will be no "walk -ons" permitted. So my advise is to book early since the club will be unable to add extra children once the camp is full. The only method for booking is via the FAI website www.fai.ie or via the call centre on 1890-653653.

Youths lose out on Penalties

Sat, Oct 8th: FAI Youth Cup, 2nd Round: Blarney 2, Riverstown 2 (AET) (Riverstown won on pen 4-3).
Blarney's U18 squad can consider themselves very unlucky in their cup game at home to Riverstown on Saturday afternoon. Blarney went one goal down on the 24th minute but James Buckley's determination brought about an equalizer. Blarney were unlucky not to take the lead when Blarney had two goals disallowed, the first called for off - side and the second for a foul inside the Riverstown 6 yard box. The score at full time was 2 goals apiece and that's the way it stayed through extra time. On came the penalty shoot - out! Riverstown emerged as eventual 5-4 winners to advance to the next round of the cup and to leave Blarney to concentrate on the league.
