Since 1968 Blarney United has hosted the annual "Square League" in Blarney Village. For 3 weeks each June , teams of top football talent compete in this unique 7 a side event. Set in the picturesque surroundings of Blarney village the tournament attracts a large spectator audience each night in a festival atmosphere. Last year 32 teams competed over 12 nights for the coveted title.
Blarney United believe that this event has the potential to attract international participation and with an appropriate corporate sponsor can become a powerful marketing opportunity.
This years event begins on June 14th and runs for 3 weeks.
Blarney United would like to invite submissions from any interested parties who would like to support this years event with a view to marketing the 2011 Square League to an international audience. Sponsorship donations or expressions of interest in branding the event in 2010 or 2011 should be sent by email to m.oraw@blarneyunited.com or telephone 021-2366165 by close of business June 4th.
This is a great opportunity to get behind the longest running event of its kind in Ireland.
