Please ensure you wear the correct footwear for the all - weather pitch (moulded boots or trainers - no studs!). New players are welcome and for more info, please contact Lisa on 087 - 2797439.

Blarney United is recruiting girls / women (16 years and over) for our new senior women's team. Any wives, partners, daughters interested, please contact Lisa on 087 - 2797439. The league starts in April so training would start in mid Feb. We are also looking for U12 girls for new league team. Training on Fridays at Cloghroe National School 6-7pm

Feb 7th: U11 Div 7: Temple 2, Blarney U11Bs 1

Blarney were very unlucky to lose out 2-1 to Temple United in a very exciting Div 7 contest up in Windy Temple Park. See U11s page for more details.

30/Jan: LC: Fermoy 1, Blarney U13As 4

Blarney's U13 Premier team returned to winning ways winning 4-1 away to Fermoy on Saturday. Aaron  opened the scoring for Blarney on 10 minutes followed by Kenneth 10 minutes later. Blarney could have had more with chances from Sean and Aaron wide of the mark thanks to a great performance by the Fermoy keeper. The hosts got one back before the break giving them a great boost for the second half. Blarney continued to attack in the second half with goals from Peter and Stephen. Fermoy never gave up and contributed well to a very entertaining match.

30/Jan: U14 LC: Blarney 2, Youghal 1

In an evenly matched contest, Blarney U14s came out the winners in their local cup tie with higher ranked Youghal. Youghal came into the game with a strong pedigree from their higher placed league but an opening 30 yard shot from Keith put the visitors on the back foot. Youghal regrouped and were unlucky not to score when their centre forward beat Blarney's on - rushing defenders but slid the ball wide of Cian's right hand post. Youghal got a deserved equaliser before the break with a move that started with their right back and finished with the ball clung into the bottom corner. A rash challenge from the Youghal's left back led to a free kick from well outside the 18 yard box. Up stepped Lorcan and with a looping right footed shot he nestled the ball high into the left corner of the Youghal net. Try as they did, Youghal were unable to get an equaliser and with some stout defending from Mark and Keith, Blarney held out for their 2-1 victory to advance to the next LC round.

5/Dec: U13 Prem: Blarney 0, College Corinthians 5

College Corinthians were well on top in the 1st half going in 3-0 at the break. Blarney battled back in the second half but 2 late soft penalties for Corinthians finished the game off. Best for Blarney was Wayne Shine who played a stormer. Click here for more U13 Premier team info.
